It was not just the songs, the movie itself was so powerful and moving. I first saw this movie in Malayalam, and fell in love with it. Great story line, music by another magician Mahadevan, back ground music by Pukazhendi, S P Balasubramaniam’s National award winning performance, so on – goes the long list. Kasinadhuni Viswanath is a director who created magic with all his movies, and Sankarabharanam tops all of them. As Captain Von Trapp tells Maria “You brought music back into our house”, Sankarabharanam brought classical music into many homes. Sankarabharanam – the movie made in Telugu, forty years back can be called “the Sound of music” of Indian cinema. Music Mumbe presents a version of Omkara Nadanu as a vocal and Nadaswaram ensemble.
